U21 SLNA and The Cong Viettel have secured their spots in the final of the 2026 U21 National Championship.

On the afternoon of July 23, the two semi-finals of the 2026 U21 National Championship took place at the PVF Youth Football Training Center (Hung Yen). U21 SLNA overcame U21 Hanoi after a penalty shootout, while U21 The Cong Viettel defeated HAGL to earn a place in the final.

In the first semi-final, U21 Hanoi started aggressively and created dangerous opportunities right after the kickoff. However, U21 SLNA's defense along with goalkeeper Cao Van Binh played solidly to keep a clean sheet. After enduring early pressure, the representatives from Nghe An gradually regained control and produced notable counterattacks.

In the 28th minute, U21 SLNA opened the scoring. Tran Quoc Hoa drove powerfully from the center, evading the opponent's defenders before firing a shot from a tight angle. The ball went through the legs of goalkeeper Pham Dinh Hai and rolled into the net, putting the Nghe An side ahead 1-0.

Late in the first half, U21 Hanoi were awarded a penalty after Phan Van Thanh handled the ball in the box. From the spot, Nguyen Anh Tiep converted successfully, leveling the score at 1-1 before the break. No further goals were scored in regular time, so the two teams had to decide the winner on penalties.

In the nerve-wracking shootout, U21 SLNA converted 4 of their attempts, while U21 Hanoi only scored 2. The representatives from Nghe An won the penalty shootout 4-2, thus winning 5-3 on aggregate to secure their spot in the final.

In the other semi-final, U21 The Cong Viettel played efficiently and won 2-0 against HAGL to book their place in the tournament's final. With this result, U21 Hanoi and HAGL both received bronze medals. According to the schedule, the 2026 U21 National Championship final between U21 SLNA and U21 The Cong Viettel will take place at 16:00 on July 25 at the PVF Youth Football Training Center.
