Manchester United signs Cunha installment details exposed! Selling Marcus Rashford has been blocked, and he wants to play in the Champions League without taking a pay cut

Manchester United's £62.5 million signing for Wolves Cunha was just one step away from an official announcement, with the BBC revealing that the club would pay his liquidated damages in three instalments, with the first payment amounting to £20.8 million. A payment will be made at the end of each of the next two seasons and will be settled at the end of the 2026/27 season.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester United could complete their first signing before the summer window opens. According to the rules, the temporary transfer window for the Club World Cup will open on 1 June, and this mini-window will close on 10 June, with the official summer transfer period reopening six days later.

The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided six assists this season. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Manchester United have reached a comprehensive agreement with Wolves. Cunha is expected to complete his medical this week and make his signing official at Old Trafford. He will then rest and report to the Brazilian national team, where he will meet future team-mates Casemiro and Antony, both of whom have been re-recruited by new boss Carlo Ancelotti to the Samba Army.

After Wolves' 1-1 draw with Brentford in the final round of the Premier League, Cunha circled the pitch with the squad and walked to the South Stand where die-hard fans gathered to bid farewell to Molineux's crowd. The fans chanted his name and Cunha patted the crest on his chest, waved and bowed, then turned and walked to the players' tunnel.

British media said that Cunha will wear the number 10 shirt after joining Manchester United, however, the owner of this number, Rashford, is still in the club's roster of players, and I am afraid it will not be so easy to complete the transfer! The Red Devils' controversial 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the final round of the Premier League directly led to the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Firstly, Villa will not have the funds to activate the £40 million permanent transfer clause and cannot afford to pay Rashford's £325,000-a-week salary package without qualifying for the Champions League. In addition, Rashford has asked to join the team that will play in the Champions League next season, so Villa are not eligible.

The Sun reports that while Unai Emery wants Rashford to stay, the 27-year-old's loan spell is coming to an end and a permanent transfer will not happen. The England international wants to move to Barcelona in La Liga, but Flick's first choice is not him.

Marcus Rashford is said to have enjoyed his time at Villa and, after a nightmare with Manchester United, rediscovered his desire for football, scoring four goals and providing six assists to return to Thomas Tuchel's England side. But that doesn't mean he'll lower his demands on joining the team, and he said goodbye to Villa Park on Monday. 'It's a special club and I'm grateful for the way the Villa fans have embraced me with open arms.' Rashford said: 'It's a huge disappointment to miss out on the Champions League, everyone has worked really hard all season, but I know the club and the team will come out stronger.

Manchester United want to sell Marcus Rashford as soon as possible, but his attitude of having to play in the Champions League without taking a pay cut will complicate the transfer and the Reds may have to be ready to welcome him back to training in early July. Another potential return on loan is Chelsea's Jadon Sancho, who the Blues are obligated to buy out for £25 million, but can also pay £4.5 million in compensation to opt for his return.

According to The Independent, Chelsea are yet to make a final decision and will make their choice clear after Wednesday's UEFA Cup final. In the final against Betis, Sancho will face Antony, who is also a Manchester United loanee.
