ESPN selected the wingers list for the 2024-25 season, and we focus on the top 10 list, of which Salah is ranked first, Barcelona duo Yamal and Raphinha are ranked second and third, Dembele, the first favorite for the Ballon d'Or, is only fifth, and Messi has "retired" from the MLS to be ranked eighth.
ESPN's Top 10 wingers for the 2024-25 season:
After reading this list, ESPN is simply "ball blind". If you only look at the 2024-25 season, why is Bayern's Olise ranked outside the top 10, and his performance this season is not better than Nico, Real Madrid twin stars Rodrygo and Vinicius? And Dembele is the favorite for the Ballon d'Or, can't his performance be as good as Salah? Although Salah is the Premier League Golden Boot and assist king, Salah did not score in the three major cup competitions (Champions League + FA Cup + League Cup) in which Liverpool was eliminated. Although Salah scored a lot of goals in the Premier League, he was invisible in the key battles of the cup, and Dembele was the treble winner (Champions League + French Cup + French Cup), Liverpool scored in the Champions League, and the Champions League final assisted twice. Then there's Messi, who is the best in history, but it's a bit far-fetched to be in the top 10 for the winger position now.
