Germany suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Sweden and had defender Carlotta Wamser sent off in their final Group C match during a disappointing performance that left them in second place in the standings.
This set the stage for an exciting encounter between Germany and France, whom Wueck sees as the favorites for Saturday's match in Basel.
"If you examine the statistics, the French secured nine points in the group stage, while we managed six, which is why I believe the French are the favorites," Wueck told the media.
The Germans have had five days to recover from the surprising loss to the Swedes, who are returning home after being eliminated in the quarter-finals by England on Thursday.
"It's crucial that the disappointment from the game against Sweden has now faded," Wueck remarked.
"I believe we've successfully ensured that we're not only looking forward to this quarter-final, but that we are approaching this knockout stage with the clear understanding that our performance on the field will determine whether we continue in the tournament or not."
Wueck expressed his expectation for his players to present a significantly improved performance when they face France at the St Jakob-Park Stadium to determine who secures the last spot in the semi-finals.
"I am confident that the excitement and determination to enter this match are definitely present now. That's why it was beneficial ... that we had ample time to reflect on the match against Sweden," Wueck stated.
