Manchester United is making a strong push to acquire a new striker, with three top candidates revealed! Šeško is willing to join, but there’s an obstacle.

After Manchester United officially announced the signing of Mbemo, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the club will be fully committed to signing a new striker next. According to English media "GIVEMESPORT," sources claim that even if Manchester United cannot participate in European competitions next season, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Šeško is still willing to join. The 22-year-old Slovenian striker is one of the target players identified by Ruben Amorim, and while the Red Devils are interested in bringing him in, many factors will determine whether he ultimately joins.

Šeško has been closely monitored by Manchester United scouts for over three years, and it is reported that the club has indeed reached out to him again this year. Amorim greatly appreciates Šeško's all-around playing ability and believes his style is well-suited for the Premier League and his 3-4-3 formation.

Manchester United has been in contact with several free agents, including Callum Wilson, Vardy, and Calvert-Lewin, but signing a free striker is merely a last resort. Aston Villa's Watkins is also on the list, but considering he is 29 years old, his age and potential resale value are lower than that of Šeško.

Arsenal attempted to sign Šeško this summer, but the negotiations were deemed very complex. The Gunners' new sporting director, Andrea Berta, found Leipzig difficult to deal with, and Šeško himself had numerous demands. Ultimately, he and head coach Arteta decided to pursue Sporting CP's Cherki, indicating how challenging a transfer for Šeško could be.

Sources say that Šeško is eager to join Manchester United, but this is meaningless because Osimhen and Cherki were previously rumored to be "leaning towards a transfer to the Red Devils," yet those were just illusions. Typically, an agent of a non-top-tier player tends to push for a transfer to a big club to earn more commission. Šeško's agent, Elvis Basanović, has been criticized for pressuring Leipzig to secure a transfer.

However, for the Red Devils to bring in a new striker, another significant issue arises beyond the player's willingness: the club's own finances. Manchester United clearly intends to strengthen their attack, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe's management team has sent a clear message to potential recruits: the club must sell players before they can buy. Manchester United needs to work hard to raise funds through player sales. All potential new signings have been informed of the current financial situation, and Šeško is not the only name being considered by Manchester United.

As mentioned earlier, Manchester United's striker targets also include Watkins and Chelsea's Jackson. Watkins' transfer fee is around £50-60 million, which is within an acceptable range; while Chelsea has quoted a sky-high price of £80-100 million for Jackson, the Red Devils might be able to negotiate a swap involving Garnacho.

It is reported that Amorim wants a dynamic forward who can serve as a focal point for the attack, capable of not only scoring but also pressing actively. The three aforementioned players each have their own strengths: Šeško is young, versatile, and full of potential, Watkins has rich Premier League experience and excellent heading ability, while Jackson is strong and good at physical duels.

This summer, Šeško has received intense interest from the Saudi Arabian Professional League, but he has consistently refused to head to the Middle East for financial gain; his goal is to continue in European football. Understandably, he would be more inclined to accept offers from teams with Champions League qualifications.

Last season, Šeško scored 21 goals in 45 matches, and he may not necessarily be seeking a transfer. This week, he posted a photo on social media wearing Leipzig's new season number 30 jersey. "Shooting some pictures for the new season," he wrote. His agent emphasized that Šeško would only leave Leipzig if he finds a particularly special club, a unique project, and an exceptional coach.

Currently, Manchester United has not made any offers for Šeško or any striker, and they are still closely monitoring various situations. Even if Šeško is willing to transfer and temporarily stay away from the Champions League stage, whether Manchester United takes concrete action also depends on their player sales. The club's interest in Šeško is genuine, but reports indicate that his transfer fee is over £80 million.

This is not a sum that Manchester United can easily come up with. The British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" reports that Manchester United currently lacks the necessary funds. It seems that only by selling Sancho (£15 million), Antony (£30 million), and Garnacho (£45 million) could they possibly raise the amount needed.
