In recent years, both Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek have transitioned from the Czech league to the English Premier League and have achieved remarkable success during their time in East London.
Diouf is following the path set by Soucek and Coufal
In Soucek's case, he has become somewhat of a cult figure among the London Stadium supporters, even earning the prestigious Hammer of the Year award for the 2020/21 season.
Fate also determined that when the Irons secured their first major trophy in over 40 years - the Conference League - the final was held at Slavia's stadium as well.
Now it's the opportunity for 20-year-old Diouf to demonstrate that he possesses the qualities needed to thrive in the 'best league in the world.'
"A highly physical approach"
Flashscore's Jakub Dvorak believes the player has every chance of achieving this.
"Malick is aggressive and tough in duels, tackles effectively, and has an excellent work ethic," he stated. "He is accustomed to playing a very physical style, which was characteristic of Slavia's manager, Jindrich Trpisovsky. He runs. A lot.
"In the Czech league, he stood out with his high speed, dynamism, offensive contributions, and shooting skills.

"He played as a wing-back for the top team in the league, so he didn't have to defend as much and was more of an offensive player, delivering numerous crosses and passes into the penalty area. Therefore, he naturally had respectable attacking statistics.
"In the Premier League, I believe defending could be his weak point, but he remains a very young player who needs to learn tactics, and quality defending is part of that."
Diouf's "dream" of playing in the EPL
Considering that the stocky young player is known to maintain himself in excellent physical shape, it would be surprising if opposing attackers continue to outmaneuver him once he adjusts to the Premier League.
During his time at Slavia - which began only at the start of 2024 - he has gained a reputation as a player with remarkable stamina to cover the pitch from the first minute to the last.
A player who loves to attack at every opportunity but is equally willing to defend when necessary, West Ham supporters are likely to appreciate his wholehearted dedication to the team. A cause he is eager to support.
"It was a good plan for me," he was quoted as saying.
"I want to express to the West Ham fans that I am very happy to be here with them. I believe we will have a great season this year.
"Everyone wants to come here to play in the Premier League. I think it's a dream for everyone."
Outstanding shooting accuracy and conversion rate
With seven goals and two assists in his 27 Czech First League matches last season, he ranked fourth in the Slavia squad, and that one-in-four goal ratio is quite acceptable for a wing-back.
A shooting accuracy of 57.1% is surpassed only by his teammate, Lukas Provod, and Diouf can also claim to have the third-best conversion rate in the squad (19.4%).

Provod, again, and Tomas Chory are the only Slavia players who have had more than the young player's 16 shots on target, while Diouf's 1667 touches throughout the 2024/25 season were the third most in the squad, showcasing the work rate that Flashscore's Jakub Dvorak refers to.
Although his pass completion rate of 75.7% isn't the highest, it's still quite acceptable; however, this remains an area of his game that he will need to improve quickly.

That's because only Soucek (74.8%), Alphonse Areola (66.1%),Niclas Fullkrug (67.9%), Michail Antonio (70.8%), Lukasz Fabianski (63.5%) and Danny Ings (71.6%) have lower rates - and several of those players didn't play for West Ham for extended periods during the 24/25 season.
If he wants to succeed at his new club, it's essential for Diouf to avoid becoming just another 'busy fool' for the Hammers, where he appears to be active, but upon closer inspection, his contributions don't meet the team's needs.
Nothing less than 100% effort
That said, his 229 one-on-one ground duels and 70 aerial duels attempted indicate that he is a player who likes to engage physically, and his 34 attempted tackles last season compare favorably to his West Ham teammates over the same period.
If there's one thing they cherish at the London Stadium more than anything, it's players who give their all and wear their hearts on their sleeves for the claret and blue cause. The East London supporters know their football and will not accept anything less than 100%.
If Diouf delivers that commitment weekly, then he will be forgiven for any shortcomings.
