Vinícius is asking for a net salary of €20 million per year, which the Real Madrid management considers excessive, fearing it could disrupt the salary balance in the locker room, thus pausing Vinícius's renewal process. Mbappé's favorite number is 7; he currently wears the number 9 for Real Madrid, but he dons the number 10 jersey for the French national team. Therefore, once the number 10 becomes available at Real Madrid, Mbappé will switch to this number, becoming the new number 10 for the club.

Sources indicate that had Modrić renewed his contract with Real Madrid for another year, Mbappé would have continued wearing the number 9 for one more season while waiting for the number 7 and 10 to become available. Now that Modrić has left, Mbappé will take the number 10 and await the number 7 vacancy, as Vinícius's future with Real Madrid remains uncertain. Both players excel in the left winger position, and should Vinícius depart, Mbappé would opt for the number 7.

In my opinion, it is perfectly reasonable for Mbappé to wear the number 10 for Real Madrid, especially since Jurel's experience and ability are still somewhat lacking. The number 9 for Real Madrid is likely to go to the highly-rated young star Gonzalo García, who shone during the Club World Cup.
