The diving dream team has won its first gold medal at the World Championships, but the women's 1m springboard suffered an upset, shattering the dream of securing 13 golds.

On July 26, Beijing time, the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore continued with fierce competition, marking the first day of diving events. Two gold medals were awarded that day, in mixed team and women's 1m springboard. We achieved a result of 1 gold and 1 silver in these events, falling short of our goal of 2 golds. Nevertheless, we temporarily hold the top position on the medal table with 5 golds!

This World Championship kicked off in Singapore, with the Chinese diving dream team making its debut today, aiming for a total of 13 golds. The first competition day brought both joy and sorrow. The first gold medal in diving came from the mixed team event. The dream team, eager to win gold and start strong, sent out the powerhouse combination of Chen Yuxi, Chen Yiwen, Cheng Zilong, and Cao Yuan, who delivered a flawless performance, dominating the competition with a remarkable score of 466.25, securing the gold medal without any doubt. This was also the first gold medal for the Chinese diving team in this event, marking a beautiful start and a delightful surprise!

Initially, winning in the mixed team event seemed like a great start, but unexpectedly, in the subsequent women's 1m springboard, we faced the biggest upset since the competition began. The Chinese duo failed to secure gold, as Chen Jia and Li Yajie, due to their lack of experience, made significant mistakes in the final. Despite a late surge, they ultimately fell short, allowing an Australian athlete to take the gold in an unexpected turn of events, while Li Yajie managed to secure a silver medal. This outcome is truly disappointing, highlighting the young players' struggles under pressure!

With the diving team losing the women's 1m springboard gold medal, our goal of securing 13 golds in this event has been shattered today. The dream team's loss came surprisingly fast, which has dealt a heavy blow to the diving squad. Future selections of athletes will require careful consideration. Currently, we still hold the top position on the latest medal table, but we need to take this seriously and avoid further mistakes!
