A father of three, Jota, passed away alongside his brother on July 3rd, just 11 days after marrying his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, following their car veering off the road and catching fire in northern Spain.
A significant number of tributes, including flowers, scarves, cards, and jerseys, have been placed at Anfield, which Liverpool indicated would serve as the foundation for the permanent monument.
"The thousands of physical tributes outside Anfield have been gradually removed over the past week, carefully sorted, and securely stored," the club stated in a release.
"Floral tributes will subsequently be composted and utilized in flower beds across all club locations.
"The remaining items will be recycled by a specialized company to aid in the creation of a permanent memorial sculpture that will serve as a future focal point for remembrance at Anfield."
The club also announced that players will wear a 'Forever 20' emblem, referencing Jota's now-retired shirt number, printed on their jerseys and stadium jackets for the season.
Liverpool honored Jota and Silva during their friendly match at Preston two weeks ago and will hold their main commemoration, featuring a fan mosaic and a minute of silence, before kicking off the new season at home against Bournemouth on August 15th.
