This announcement follows Barcelona stating earlier this week that it had to "halt its participation in the game" in Japan "due to serious contractual breaches by the promoter."
The Spanish powerhouses were supposed to compete against Vissel Kobe on Sunday before heading to South Korea to face FC Seoul on July 31st and Daegu FC on August 4th.
The Japanese club announced on Friday that "after thorough discussions with the involved parties, the match scheduled for Sunday... will proceed as planned."
Vissel Kobe, for whom Barcelona and Spanish legend Andres Iniesta played towards the end of his career, mentioned there were "contractual issues" and they had been collaborating with their owner "to coordinate with the relevant parties, including Barcelona, to ensure the match takes place."
Barcelona posted a video of the team disembarking from a plane on Saturday on X, with the caption "Konnichiwa, Japan!"
"We are truly thrilled to be in Japan," they added in another post.
