Malmo has continued their momentum from the UEFA Champions League victory earlier in the week by applying pressure on their Allsvenskan title rivals, securing a 3-2 victory away at Brommapojkarna. Additionally, on Saturday, the league's top-performing team, GAIS, defeated Halmstad, while Degerfors and Norrkoping ended in a draw.

With renovations underway at their Grimsta IP stadium, Brommapojkarna hosted Malmo in the unfamiliar setting of the 3Arena in Stockholm.

However, they couldn’t attribute their early deficit to a lack of home advantage, as misfortune struck when Hugo Bolinsaw his shot take a significant deflection and loop over Leo Cavallius and into the net.

BP responded positively to the setback, equalizing midway through the half when Victor Lind attempted a free-kick from a narrow angle, and there was nothing fortuitous about his strike, as the ball flew into the back of the net.

Ten minutes after the interval, Lind struck again with another exquisite shot - Daleho Irandust set him up at the edge of the box, and the ball soared off his right foot, leaving Robin Olsen with no chance.

The home team’s lead lasted only 11 minutes - the ball fell favorably to Otto Rosengren, and his shot navigated through a crowded penalty area and slipped past Cavallius, who could have done better.

Six minutes later, MFF reclaimed the lead, and once again, they required a bit of luck. Sead Haksabanovic sent the ball low across the edge of the six-yard box, and the outstretched leg of Eric Bjorkander deflected it into his own net for 3-2!

A fifth consecutive win across all competitions has propelled Malmo to third place in the standings for the time being. Following three consecutive victories, the Bromma Boys are now facing back-to-back losses, currently sitting ___.

Despite Malmo's impressive form, no team in the Allsvenskan can match the streak that GAIS is enjoying; the Gothenburg team is now unbeaten in 10 matches after a 3-0 home victory against Halmstad!

The Mackerels started strong - after the first wave of their attack was thwarted, possession was retained by Gustav Lundgren, who assisted Kevin Holmen to curl the ball into the top corner from 20 yards, just seven minutes into the match.

With nine minutes remaining in the first half, Lundgren transitioned from provider to scorer, appearing at the back post to meet Matteo de Brienne’s cross with a side-foot volley.

The victory was secured 20 minutes into the second half when Rasmus Niklasson delivered a dangerous low cross into the six-yard box, and Ibrahim Diabate was perfectly positioned to tap it in.

GAIS now occupies fifth place, nine points behind leaders Mjallby and just two behind Malmo and the European spots. Halmstad is four points clear of the relegation zone and has not won in three matches.

Lastly, on Saturday, Degerfors finally snapped their dismal seven-match losing streak by earning a 0-0 draw at home against Norrkoping!

In fact, this marks the first time the Allsvenskan newcomers have gained points since a 2-1 away victory over the same opponents on May 15.

It was Norrkoping who were trying to secure a vital point, as Degerfors led the shot count 21 to five, while the visitors managed only one effort on goal compared to Degerfors' four.

However, with neither side able to break through, the Bruket climbed out of the bottom three to 13th place with 14 points, five behind Norrkoping, who remain in 11th.

All 16 teams will be in action this weekend - four matches are scheduled for tomorrow, with one on Monday evening, and you can follow all the Allsvenskan action on Flashscore.
