Amorim Manchester United's first signing candidate exposed, and the giant wants to sign a low-paid titan! You can also repurchase the left gate for 20 million

Manchester United have not had a proper left-back for most of the year, and the latest rumours suggest that sporting director Dan Ashworth is interested in signing a new left-hand striker as a "gift" from new boss Ruben Amorim. The 39-year-old Portuguese coach will not take charge until 10 November and there have been plenty of rumours that he wants to sign the Portuguese sporting player, but that doesn't include the left-back, as the Reds' hierarchy already has their own targets. According to a fan survey conducted by the Manchester Evening News, 35 per cent of those surveyed believe Manchester United must buy a new left-back first, topping all the positions that need to be strengthened.

The British "Give Me Sport" reported that Ashworth regards Wolves' Layan Ait-Noori as an ideal left-back candidate, the 23-year-old Nuri joined Wolves from Angers in 2021, although Gary O'Neal's team fell into the relegation spiral this season, but Nouri played well, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 Premier League games, and the statistics are more fierce than Manchester United strikers Rashford, Zirkze and others!

Last week, Wolves drew 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion, and Noori scored again, and his performances caught the attention of Manchester United, with Ashworth seeing him as the first choice for the desperately sought left wing-back. Nuri's style may suit Amorim in a three-centre-back system, while the French-born and now Algerian national team is comfortable playing both traditional full-back and today's popular wing-back.

Moreover, Noori's contract is about to enter its final 18 months. At Wolves, Nouri's annual salary is just a staggering £520,000! This is an annual salary, not a weekly salary, which means that even if Manchester United increases its salary by 10 times, it will still be in the base salary class in the team! Another way to put it is that Nuri earns £33,000 a week, and even then, it is an absolute low salary.

Manchester City have been interested in Noori this summer, with new sporting director Hugo Viana, who will be in charge next year, particularly favouring the Algerian wing-back, who is close to Wolves' behind-the-scenes magnate and agent Jorge Mendes as a Portuguese. Liverpool are also interested in Noori and need to find a successor for the ageing Robertson.

Manchester United, on the other hand, need to find replacements for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, both of whom have been plagued by injuries over the past two seasons. Wolves won't let him go easily, having set a £60million price tag for Nuri this summer, and as his contract shortens, the fee will be slightly lower, but not too little.

Sources understand that Nuri is keen to test himself in a club that can compete for titles if given the opportunity and he will not turn down offers from Manchester City, Liverpool or Manchester United. Even a down-and-out club like the Red Devils can provide a better competitive stage than Wolves, not to mention a good income.

Manchester United's other left-back target is Álvaro Fernandez Carreras, who only officially joined Benfica this summer. He plays in the Portuguese Super League, and Amorim is certainly no stranger to him, and he is said to have a great admiration for the player from his rivals. The stats show that Fernandes has been outstanding over the past year, particularly in assists, creating an average of 0.60 goals per game and ranking in the top 1% of full-backs in Europe's top six leagues, so he could be an excellent left-wing-back.

In January, Ten Hag sold the 21-year-old for €6 million amid United's apparent lack of a left-back, making it one of his latest transfer mistakes. The Athletic confirmed that it was Ten Hag's decision, to which the 54-year-old Dutchman insisted it was the right one, citing the fact that Spain's 'new Marcelo' had made great strides with other teams.

Under the buy-back clause, Manchester United could buy back a fee of €20 million, but at that point the secondary transfer sharing clause in the contract would lapse. Of course, even so, the price will be much cheaper than Noori, but it is still unknown whether the player himself will want to return to the Red Devils.

If United can get rid of some of the existing redundancies next year, it will help to get the funds to bring in Nuri or A-fee. Among them, the €100 million winger Antony is likely to leave Old Trafford. It is reported that if Antony cannot be loaned out in the January winter window, the second half of the season will be the Brazilian's last chance. If the 24-year-old "Compass" can't make any achievements, it will be inevitable that he will be sold at a low price next summer.
