Eddie Howe’s team has had a difficult off-season. They have not only been turned down by multiple transfer targets, but they also have yet to secure a victory in pre-season ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Just when things seemed to be at their worst, Gordon, 24, had to leave the field during their 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid due to an apparent injury.

The England international initially received immediate medical attention on the pitch before he limped off and went directly to the dressing room.

When inquired about the seriousness of his injury, Howe responded: "We hope he’s alright. It appears to be an ankle issue. Initially, we thought it was a muscle injury. The good news is that it’s just a twist. The early indication is that he should be fine."
