According to media reports Chevalier has joined PSG for a fee of approximately 40 million euros ($47 million), with the 23-year-old poised to take over from Italy's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has one year remaining on his contract with the Paris-based club, as the primary goalkeeper in Luis Enrique's squad.
"I am a young man fulfilling his dream. Since childhood, I aspired to play at the highest level possible," Chevalier stated.
"I am truly thrilled to be here. I will don this jersey with passion and determination."
Born in Calais, Chevalier developed through Lille's youth academy and was loaned to Valenciennes before establishing himself as the starting goalkeeper at his parent club during the 2022-23 season.
He was awarded Ligue 1's goalkeeper of the year for the 2024-25 season by the UNFP, the trade union for professional footballers in France.
"Lucas is among the top goalkeepers in France and Europe, and he is a remarkable addition to our squad - as we continue to develop everything for the long-term based on teamwork," stated PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Ligue 1 and Champions League champions PSG will face Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
