Manchester United officially announces that Benjamin Šeško, their new striker signed for €85 million, can start against Arsenal. André Onana is back! Ruben Amorim aims to return to European competitions.

Manchester United has confirmed that the new striker Benjamin Šeško, acquired for €85 million, is eligible to start against Arsenal. The 22-year-old Slovenian forward arrived in Manchester last Thursday, officially joined on Saturday, and participated in full training with the team the following day. Head coach Ruben Amorim is very pleased with Šeško's physical condition and work ethic.

In the opening match of the Premier League at home against Arsenal, Manchester United's first-choice goalkeeper André Onana will also return from injury. Additionally, striker Cyril Kerkéz has fully resumed training, which means that the soon-to-be-transferred Hojlund may miss his last chance to play in the Premier League.

Currently, the only confirmed absentees for Manchester United are Lisandro Martínez and Mazraoui. Amorim stated, "Nussair (Mazraoui) and Lisandro (Martínez) are out; they cannot play in this match. Joshua (Kerkéz) has recovered, and André (Onana) is as well; they are available for this match, and we will see."

Regarding Šeško's situation, Amorim explained, "We have more than three forwards competing for positions, and I am truly satisfied. Benjamin (Šeško) has great potential and can play different styles of football. He will experience the intensity of the Premier League; he needs to learn, but he has a lot of potential. I can see Benjamin being Manchester United's striker for many years, which is why we paid such a high price for a forward who can make his mark in the club's history."

When asked about Šeško's potential to start in the Premier League opener, Amorim said, "Of course, we don't have much time, but he is ready. Physically, he is prepared, which is a crucial aspect of the Premier League. Moreover, he is very intelligent; every detail he asks about is well thought out. He works on his fitness every afternoon, and he is the only player who has lunch at Carrington and goes to the gym for stretching; he is always thinking about football and very dedicated, which is a good thing. You don't need to worry about this young man's issues in that regard. As for whether he will play or start, we will wait and see; he is just like the other players."

Amorim particularly praised Šeško's attitude. "I don't need to tell Benjamin: 'This is Manchester United; there is a lot of pressure, and you must perform well and be ready for physical challenges. Failure is not an option.' I don't have such concerns about him; on the contrary, I feel he should enjoy it! I really appreciate his questions, especially the smart ones. He listens and wants to perform, which is great."

After the arrival of three new forwards, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is expected to play in a deeper position. Amorim explained, "It is good for Bruno (Fernandes) to stay in one position; I want him close to the ball, which is very important for our team, but sometimes he also needs to be near the goal. We will determine the best positions for our best players on a match-by-match basis."

Regarding his goals, Amorim expressed hope for Manchester United to return to European competitions, but he admitted that it must be achieved through hard work. The team needs to focus on steady improvement, one match at a time.

For the new season, Amorim expressed cautious optimism. "It's hard to say because we can't change everything in four weeks, but the team has indeed made progress. I know the players have been training harder, improving their training, and preparing better for the demands of matches. We will become a better team step by step, and I feel more confident now."

The match between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford could become a battleground for two newly arrived Premier League forwards, Šeško and Jérémy Doku. Liverpool's Ekitike has already scored, leaving the pressure on the two high-priced newcomers from the Red Devils and the Gunners.
