2025 US Open Qualifiers: Wei Sijia advances with ease, Zhang Shuai and Wu Yibing move on successfully

On August 19 local time, the second day of the 2025 US Open qualifying tournament unfolded, with all three Chinese mainland athletes participating in the first round of the singles qualifiers claiming victory: ninth-seeded Zhang Shuai overcame Stoyana 7-5, 6-3; Wei Sijia dispatched Gengiz 6-2, 6-2; and Wu Yibing knocked out Fikovic 6-3, 6-3.

Including Wang Xiyu and Sun Fajing, who won on the first day, there are now five Chinese players who have successfully passed the opening round. All of them will compete in the second round of qualifying on the third day of the tournament.
