On August 19 local time, the 2025 ATP 250 Winston-Salem Open entered its second round. Chinese player Buyunchaokete scored a straight-sets victory over top seed Tsitsipas, 6-3/6-2, achieving back-to-back main draw wins in an ATP event for the first time since Montpellier.

In the opening round, Buyunchaokete battled through three sets to defeat Taiwan’s Chun-Hsin Tseng, 6-7(2)/6-3/7-6(4). Facing top seed Tsitsipas in the second round, Buyunchaokete came out firing. In the first set, he surged ahead 4-1 before Tsitsipas mounted a strong comeback. At a critical moment, Buyunchaokete held serve from 0-40 to close out the set 6-3. In the second set, he continued his momentum, quickly building a 4-0 lead and ultimately sealing the win 6-2.
With his spot in the last 16 secured, Buyunchaokete will next face Argentina’s Navone for a place in the quarterfinals. Navone cruised past No.16 seed Giron 6-2/6-2. This match is scheduled for 6:30 AM Beijing time tomorrow.
