Last night and early this morning Beijing time, the third day of the 2025 US Open competition unfolded. On the men's singles side, in a key first-round match, China's top player Bu Yunchaote fought hard but was defeated 1-6, 4-6, 6-7(1) by wildcard entrant Royer, missing out on his first Grand Slam main draw victory.

On the women's side: Chinese player Wang Xinyu came from behind to defeat local player Dolehide 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, reaching the US Open second round for the third consecutive year. Wang Xinyu is the only Chinese mainland player to advance past the first round in singles. In the second round, she will face Russian star Aleksandrova, who defeated Latvian Sevastova 6-4, 6-1. In their head-to-head, Wang leads 2-1.
Other matches: Former champion and 2nd seed Swiatek cruised past Colombian Arango 6-1, 6-2 for a strong start; former champion and 3rd seed Gauff battled for nearly three hours to beat Australian Tomljanovic 6-4, 6-7(2), 7-5, advancing with difficulty; two-time champion and 23rd seed Osaka defeated Belgian Minnen 6-3, 6-4, also moving past the first round successfully.

Last night Beijing time, the US Open women's doubles draw was released, led by top seeds Siniakova/Townsend from Czech Republic and USA, and the strong Italian pair Errani/Borini.
