After gaining 130 points at this US Open, Huang will return to the top 150 in the world rankings next week. Rublev will face 25th seed Auger-Aliassime next, who upset the 3rd seed Zverev with a 4-6/7-6(7)/6-4/6-4 victory.

Top seed Sinner overcame losing the first set to defeat fellow Canadian Shapovalov 5-7/6-4/6-3/6-3, extending his hard-court Grand Slam winning streak to 24 matches and reaching the round of 16 in 10 consecutive majors. He will next face 23rd seed Bublik, who triumphed over home favorite Paul in a five-set thriller on Arthur Ashe Stadium, 7-6(5)/6-7(4)/6-3/6-7(5)/6-1.

8th seed Demin advanced to the round of 16 after his opponent Altmaier retired while trailing 6-7(7)/6-3/6-4/2-0. He will meet qualifier Redi, who also progressed due to his opponent Mehzak’s retirement while leading 5-3 in the first set, marking Redi’s first time reaching the second week of a Grand Slam.

10th seed Musetti won the derby against compatriot Cobolli by taking the first two sets 6-3/6-2. When leading 2-0 in the third, Cobolli retired, allowing Musetti to reach the US Open round of 16 for the first time in his career. Third seed Gauff, after overcoming challenges in the first two rounds, cruised through this match with a 6-3/6-1 win over 28th seed Frech. Two-time champion Naomi Osaka, despite being bageled in the first set, battled back to win 6-0/4-6/6-3 against Kasatkina after a tough deciding set. In the fourth round, Gauff and Osaka will clash in a marquee showdown between former US Open champions.

8th seed Anisimova also fought through three sets, defeating Romanian player Cristian 6-4/4-6/6-2 to achieve her best US Open performance to date. She will face 18th seed Maia for a spot in the quarterfinals; Maia dominated Sakari 6-1/6-2. 11th seed Mchova eliminated compatriot Noskova 6-7(5)/6-4/6-2, while 27th seed Kostyuk overcame French player Parry 3-6/6-4/6-2. These two will meet in the fourth round.
