In the women's singles final just finished at the Badminton World Championships, Chen Yufei was defeated 0-2 by Akane Yamaguchi, missing the chance to win gold.

The scores for the two games were 9-21 and 13-21, with an overall 0-2 loss, resulting in a very disappointing runner-up position.

Akane Yamaguchi achieved her third straight world championship title, and credit goes to Chen Yufei for knocking out An Se-young; otherwise, the championship would have surely belonged to An Se-young. Chen Yufei was injured last night and had not fully recovered today, which affected her tactical performance, making the loss understandable.
