Rune revealed that he once downloaded a dating app and shared his views on choosing a partner, while Draper discussed his injury experience.

In a recent interview, Rune shared some unique off-court stories. He admitted to having downloaded a dating app, although he hasn’t yet found a suitable date.

“I think it’s much better than meeting in person,” Rune commented on online dating, but he also admitted that “it’s quite challenging.”

Regarding his ideal date, Rune said, “A good date setup is either going for a walk together or having a drink. I think if you have a meal together on a date, sometimes it can be a bit too much.”

Rune also recounted an unpleasant date experience: “I think if she talks too little, it’s not really good. I once was the one talking more; I shared a lot about myself and then asked her if she was interested in what I was telling her.”

When asked if he would date a fan, Rune showed an open yet cautious attitude: “I don’t know, I wouldn’t say no, because if she has good values, looks nice, and everything else is okay, I wouldn’t say no.”

He emphasized the importance of equality in relationships: “I think it’s a bit strange if they put me on a pedestal; it should be an equal relationship.”

This candid attitude revealed the authentic side of the tennis star off the court and gave fans insight into Rune’s sincere views on interpersonal relationships.

Netizens showed strong interest in Rune’s interview. One joked, “Is Rune switching careers to become a dating coach?” Another commented, “I didn’t expect athletes to have the same dating troubles as us.”

Additionally, Jack Draper, the world No. 7 British tennis player, announced on September 9 via his social media that he will withdraw from all remaining 2025 season tournaments due to an unresolved arm injury. The British top player, who recently won the most significant title of his career at the Indian Wells Masters, expressed helplessness: “This decision was very tough. I had built up excellent form this year and played some great tennis.”

It is reported that Draper’s left arm bone bruise has troubled him for several months. Although he felt discomfort during the clay season in May, he still competed and reached the semifinals at the Queen’s Club Championships.

However, the injury continued to affect his performance, especially his serve. After evaluation by the medical team, a long-term rest was recommended for better recovery. Draper’s left elbow injury not only impacted his training but also severely hindered his signature topspin serve.

Originally scheduled for an eight-week break, Draper returned to training and competed at the US Open after seven weeks due to contract pressures from his sports brand. Although he won his first-round match in four sets against qualifier Gomez, his serve speed noticeably dropped, and he eventually withdrew because his elbow couldn’t withstand the match intensity.

The 2025 season marked a breakthrough year for Draper; he rose to No. 7 in the world rankings and achieved multiple milestones. He won the Indian Wells Masters, finished runner-up at the Madrid Open, and nearly secured a spot at the 2025 ATP Finals, becoming the first British player since Murray in 2016 to have a chance to qualify for the year-end championships.

In his statement, Draper emotionally wrote, “It’s hard for me to accept this reality because I was hitting my stride and playing very well this year.” He also expressed gratitude to his supporters: “Thank you very much to everyone who has supported me and cheered for me throughout my career.”

This is the latest setback due to injury in Draper’s career. Despite achieving multiple successes over the past year, the shadow of injury has never left him.

Draper showed his usual positive attitude: “I’ve been through this before... and I always come back stronger because I’m highly motivated to reach my potential as an athlete.”

His team is currently focused on rehabilitation and is adopting a relatively conservative treatment approach to minimize risks. For this young player born after 2000, his career still has a long way to go.

Following the news of Draper’s season-ending injury, the tennis community expressed regret and sent their best wishes.

Tennis commentator Robert said, “Draper has had a tough season with injuries coming at the worst time. Seeing his ranking drop to seventh is hard to watch. I hope he recovers well because health is the top priority. Looking forward to seeing him fully recovered and back on the court!” Another fan simply wished, “See you at the Shanghai Masters next year.”(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Lu Xiaotian)
