Typically, winning a championship and achieving a new career milestone brings increased confidence to a tennis player. This confidence usually leads to better performances on the court thereafter. This tennis player is Canadian Mboko. At the start of the 2025 season, she claimed five ITF titles and broke into the world’s top 200 rankings for the first time. Perhaps even she did not expect that this was only the beginning of her breakthroughs in the 2025 season.

In early March, as a wildcard, she battled through three sets to defeat Colombian Osorio, a former tour champion, at the WTA1000 Miami event.
