In their previous two career meetings, each player had won once, and both had endured tough battles on their way to the final. In this match, the first set went to a tiebreak, where Aliassime surged ahead with a 5-point streak to take it 7-2. The second set remained tightly contested with no breaks of serve, leading to another tiebreak. Aliassime earned two championship points at 6-4, but Lehecka rallied to win four consecutive points and clinch the set 8-6. In the deciding set, the toll of the previous sets showed as Lehecka lost his service games, allowing Aliassime to break twice and close out the match 6-2.
So far this season, Aliassime has reached four ATP Tour singles finals, winning three titles and finishing runner-up once. This performance is second only to his 2022 season, when he made five finals and claimed four titles including his first career championship.
