The two leading ATP-ranked players are set to clash in an exhibition match in South Korea early in the 2026 season
According to various international sources, the top two ATP-ranked players will compete in an exhibition match in South Korea at the beginning of the 2026 season.
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz both confirmed this news on social media by posting a photo with the caption “See you in South Korea”. The match is organized by Hyundai Card, a company under Hyundai Motor Group.
Yonhap News reports that previous “Hyundai Super Match” events have featured top stars such as Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Roddick.
Chosun Daily revealed that the match is scheduled for January 10 at Incheon Inspire Arena (Seoul). If accurate, it is likely both players will skip any ATP tournaments before the Australian Open, which starts on January 18.
Sinner is the current champion at Melbourne Park, while Alcaraz aims to win his first title there. A victory would complete the Spanish player’s Grand Slam collection before turning 23.
However, the organizers have yet to confirm the official date, time, and venue. Hyundai Card recently announced they “will soon release the schedule, location, ticket sales, and other details.”
To date, Sinner and Alcaraz have met 15 times on the ATP Tour, with Alcaraz winning 10 matches. Their most recent encounter was outside the ATP circuit, in a friendly final in Saudi Arabia, where Sinner won and earned a total prize of $6 million, including a $1.5 million appearance fee.
Both players are expected to meet again on the professional court later this year at the Paris Masters and ATP Finals in Turin. Currently, Sinner is competing in Basel (Switzerland), while Alcaraz plans to return to action in Paris.
