News | Overview of the 2026 Australian Open Doubles Entries, Featuring 11 Players from Mainland China

Based on the 2026 Australian Open doubles entry list, this edition will see as many as 11 mainland Chinese players competing in the doubles category. The tournament's main draw starts on January 18 and continues until February 1.

In men's doubles, the British pair Cash/Graspeur along with the 2025 ATP Finals champions Heliavlira/Patin headline the competition. For Chinese fans, the highlight is the renewed partnership of Zhang Zhizhen and Shang Juncheng, who teamed up back-to-back last year at the China Open and Shanghai Rolex Masters, and will now join forces for their first Grand Slam men's doubles appearance. Several higher-ranked singles players are also participating, including current world No.11 in singles Bublik (partnering Shevchenko), the Shanghai Rolex Masters finalists Vasherlo and Lindgrenchek forming a "cousins duo," and world No.25 singles player Griekspoor (partnering Vanderschoor). Additionally, Taiwanese player Ho Cheng-wei will team up with British player Jebens.

The women's doubles lineup is led by Siniakova/Townsend and the Italian pair Errani/Paolini. Former champions and strong contenders Zhang Shuai and Mertens are expected to be seeded fourth. Jiang Xinyu will partner Taiwanese player Chan Hao-ching, with hopes of entering as a seeded duo. Guo Hanyu will team up with former doubles world No.1 Meladnovich, marking their first Grand Slam event together. Moreover, three Chinese pairs—Xu Yifan/Yang Zhaoxuan, Wang Xinyu/Zheng Saisai, and Tang Qianhui/Wang Yafan—will also compete.
