At the WTT Champions Doha event, Zhu Yuling and Lin Yun-Ju claimed the titles, while Chen Xingtong’s runner-up finish marked the worst performance ever for the Chinese national team.
Zhu Yuling and Lin Yun-Ju won the WTT Champions Doha titles, while Chen Xingtong’s second place represented the poorest showing by the Chinese national team!
The detailed outcomes of the men’s and women’s singles finals are as shown in the picture below.
Zhu Yuling triumphed over Chen Xingtong 4-2 to claim the women’s singles crown.
Lin Yun-Ju dominated Zhang Yuzhen 4-0 to take the men’s singles title.
Tournament Preview
China’s national team sent 10 frontline players to this event but only achieved a single runner-up in the women’s singles, essentially marking their worst performance in history.
Based on the performance at this event, the Chinese team appears to be on the brink of a crisis! We look forward to the management and coaching staff reflecting on ways to improve players’ skills and their adaptability during matches.
Personally, I feel the Chinese team is facing a generational gap. Lin Shidong often falters at critical moments, Chen Yuanyu has been losing consistently for years, the younger generation hasn’t risen yet, and veteran stars like Fan Zhendong are unable to compete.
We hope our Chinese team continues to improve and achieves even better results in the future!
