The 2025 French Open singles main draw list has been released, and this year's main draw will be held from May 25 to June 8, and only 4 Chinese players have been shortlisted, creating the lowest number of French Open main draw participants in five years.
Men's singles defending champion Alcaraz
On the men's side, only two Chinese players, Zhang Zhizhen and Buyun Chaokert, who lost to Tsitsipas last year, made it to the main draw of the singles main draw after Shang Juncheng's withdrawal, and Buyun Chaoket who stopped in the second round of qualifying last year. Defending champion Alcaraz, last year's runner-up Zverev, world No. 1 Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will all be in action. Four men's players are competing in the protected rankings: Opelka, Brooksby, Ofner and Rusuvuori.
Defending Women's Singles champion Swiatek
On the women's side, only two Chinese Jinhuas, Zheng Qinwen and Wang Xinyu, have made the cut, both of whom stopped in the third round last year. At present, Yuan Yue is ranked first on the bench and will most likely enter the main competition list, and Wang Yafan is ranked fifth on the bench. Poland's Swiatek will challenge her fifth French Open title, as does world number one and last year's quarterfinalist, Aryna Sabalenka. The four women's players who use the protection rankings are Kvitova, Kostya, Brecci and Wickmayer. Eight wildcards for the singles main draw will be announced shortly.
