Ferrero points out that Acre's weapons still need to be improved, and Acre reveals that he has been watching Sinner

Recently, Alcaraz's coach Ferrero spoke openly about an area that his disciples need to focus on at the moment during the French Open.

Alcaraz has currently advanced to the semi-finals of Roland Garros. In the quarter-finals of the French Open, the Spaniard showed great dominance, beating Paul 6-0 6-1 6-4 and will face Musetti for a place in the final on 5 June.

Rain in Paris nearly disrupted Ferrero and Alcaraz's scheduled training schedule on Wednesday morning. Before finally heading to Court 2 to continue his preparations for the semi-finals, the coach was interviewed about how the defending champion began to learn to prepare for everything.

'Carlos has always had that level and the problem is that it's hard to play in every game. The coach, who was ranked No. 1 in the world in the PIF ATP rankings, explained, "We know that when he plays aggressively, bravely, and fearlessly, he is a player with more potential that has not yet been fully unleashed. But you also have to see the other side of things: the pressure, the tension, the fear, the difficulties, the opponents, the different types of players, an event that you want to win more than any other, and the importance that we all give it...... All of these factors can also affect performance on the field. ”

"I think he himself knows he needs to work on the consistency," Ferrero said. I've told him many times and we've been working on it. The problem is that when you're hitting the ball so hard, sometimes it's really hard to be consistent. ”

He added: "Yesterday he went all out on almost every shot and hit them all, but some days there will be more mistakes and it could turn into 30 unforced errors. Then he wouldn't shine so brightly, but his intentions were correct. ”

As his disciple turns 22, Ferrero has no doubt that now is the time for Alcaraz to make key decisions about his style of play, stressing the importance of "stepping up".

"It's also a question of deciding what style he wants to play." Ferrero explained, "You can go into the semi-finals with the nervousness of 'must win', or you can really fight for it and play your best...... Winning and performing well is a natural consequence. I feel like Carlos is focusing more and more on himself and not on others and really starting to find his own peak level. ”

"He has to believe that when he gives it his all and fights at maximum intensity, he can put his opponent in a difficult position. Our goal is for him to really focus on himself and do his best work. In this way, his unusually high level will naturally show. ”

In his post-match press conference, Alcaraz was asked if he had spoken to Sinner during his French Open winning streak, to which he politely responded that the Italian had inspired him and praised Sinner's performance at the tournament. "I don't know (laughs)," he said. I enjoyed watching the games on the off-season. I can say that he motivates me to a certain extent and makes me give my best every game. I saw that he was able to maintain a high level of performance throughout the game, which helped to recover better after the game. ”

He added: "I'm trying to do that as well, trying to stay focused throughout the game and realise how important recovery time is for the rest of the game. It's great for me to be able to play tennis. ”

The 22-year-old has won three titles in the 2025 season, including the ATP 500 Rotterdam, the Monte Carlo Masters and the Italian Open.(Source: Tennis Home Author: Spark)
