ATP Toronto Masters: Zverev eliminates defending champion Poprin to face Khachanov

The ATP 1000 Toronto Masters also determined two men's singles semifinal spots, as top seed Zverev fought against defending champion Poprin in a three-set match, winning with a score of 6-7(8)/6-4/6-3, which is his first semifinal appearance in a Masters this season. This marks the German's first entry into the tournament's semifinals since winning the title in Montreal in 2017, and it is also his 75th career tour semifinal, a statistic that ranks second among active players, only behind Djokovic (196).

Zverev

Zverev's opponent in the semifinals will be the 11th seed Khachanov, who defeated the 26th seed Mickelson in the quarterfinals with a score of 6-4/7-6(3), reaching the semifinals of this event for the third time in his career, marking his sixth Masters semifinal overall.

Khachanov

The two men's singles quarterfinal matches in the lower half will take place on Tuesday local time, with the 2nd seed Fritz facing the 6th seed Rublev; the 4th seed Shelton will compete against the 9th seed, Australia's top player De Minaur, for a spot in the semifinals.
