VTV Bình Điền Long An issues an official statement regarding Coach Thái Quang Lai

VTV Bình Điền Long An will have a new head coach for the rest of the volleyball season this year.

Recently, on their official Facebook page, the VTV Bình Điền Long An women's volleyball team officially bid farewell to head coach Thái Quang Lai.

"The VTV Bình Điền Long An Club announces:

Due to a lack of agreement on the club’s development direction, and in a spirit of mutual respect, VTV Bình Điền Long An Club and Coach Thái Quang Lai have mutually agreed to terminate the contract early. As of September 1, 2025, Coach Thái Quang Lai will no longer serve as the head coach of VTV Bình Điền Long An Club.

During his tenure as head coach, Thái Quang Lai consistently dedicated himself to his work and helped the club achieve many outstanding accomplishments.

VTV Bình Điền Long An Club sincerely expresses deep gratitude to Coach Thái Quang Lai for his valuable contributions to the team’s overall success.

At the same time, the club wishes Coach Thái Quang Lai all the best — may he enjoy good health, success, and happiness on his new journey.", the announcement stated.

The replacement for Mr. Thái Quang Lai has been promptly confirmed as Coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa — a legendary figure in Vietnamese women's volleyball in general and for Long An in particular.

Before taking the helm at VTV Bình Điền Long An, Ngọc Hoa was the youth team coach and served as assistant to Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt at the national team level. This legendary middle blocker also led the national team at the Shanghai Future Stars friendly tournament in mid-July, where Vietnam finished in 4th place overall.

Mr. Thái Quang Lai became head coach of VTV Bình Điền Long An in the 2024 season, filling the vacancy left by Mr. Lê Thái Bình. Under the leadership of the 54-year-old skipper, Long An achieved notable successes: winning the 2024 National Championship, the 2024 Hùng Vương Cup, and finishing as runner-up in this year’s Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship.
