The 2025 National Volleyball Championship has officially determined the two teams facing relegation.
The relegation playoff match for the women's category of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, held on the afternoon of October 16, ended with a decisive victory for Hung Yen, securing coach Tran Van Giap’s team’s place in Vietnam’s top volleyball league.
Before the match, both Hung Yen and Ho Chi Minh City showed strong determination. Coaches Tran Van Giap and Tran Hien remained optimistic, affirming their players would give their all in this crucial "reverse final" that would decide the entire season. However, once the game started, the momentum quickly shifted in favor of the northern team.
With solid first-touch defense and cohesive play, Hung Yen quickly took full control of the match. Foreign player Helena Grozer and main attacker Nguyen Thi Uyen stood out, consistently scoring through powerful attacks that Ho Chi Minh City's blockers couldn’t counter. Despite a late surge, the team from the city named after Uncle Ho failed to create any breakthroughs.
At the end of the match, Hung Yen claimed a convincing 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-22. This result accurately reflected the match's dynamic, with Hung Yen clearly superior in both strategy and fighting spirit.
This win not only helped coach Tran Van Giap’s team achieve their goal of avoiding relegation but also affirmed the collective’s effort to rise above a challenging season. Conversely, the loss forced the Ho Chi Minh City women’s team to say goodbye to the tournament as they finished at the bottom of the standings.
Thus, the 2025 National Volleyball Championship has officially confirmed the two relegated teams: Tay Ninh men's team and Ho Chi Minh City women's team. Both failed to maintain consistent performance throughout the two phases of the season, resulting in this unfortunate outcome.
