Pham Quynh Huong, a 17-year-old girl from Binh Phuoc, is becoming the center of attention after being named in the Vietnam women's volleyball team roster preparing for SEA Games 33.
Standing nearly 1.9m tall, with a 3m approach jump and a blocking reach of 2.89m, Quynh Huong is considered a "new phenomenon," even being compared by national team head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to the top star Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. Starting volleyball at age 12, she quickly advanced to become a key player for the Information Army Club and national youth teams.
Quynh Huong’s career made a strong impression in 2025. Early in the year, she was promoted to the Information Army’s first team, playing alongside seniors like Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, and Pham Thi Hien. Under coach Pham Van Long, she excelled as an opposite hitter, leading offense and defense. At the 2025 National Youth Championship, she won Best Attacker, helping her team win the title after a thrilling 3-2 victory over VTV Binh Dien Long An Youth, scoring 27 points in the final.
