The second training phase of the Vietnam women's volleyball team will play a vital role in preparing for the 33rd SEA Games happening in December in Thailand.
It is expected that the Vietnam women's volleyball team will assemble on October 25th to begin their second training session of 2025. This phase is critical to prepare the squad for the 33rd SEA Games held in December in Thailand.
Currently, the official team roster has not yet been approved by the Department of Physical Education and Sports. However, the coaching staff along with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation have finalized the personnel plan and submitted it for approval. Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet personally compiled a list of 20 athletes expected to be called up for this training camp.
Accordingly, the call-up list includes athletes such as: Pham Quynh Huong, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Hoang Hong Hanh (outside hitter), Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Xuan (setter), Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Luu Thi Hue, Le Thuy Linh (middle blockers), along with setters like Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Vi Thi Yen Nhi. The libero pair consists of Nguyen Khanh Dang and Ha Kieu Vy.
Notably, this training camp marks the inclusion of several promising newcomers such as Pham Quynh Huong, Hoang Hong Hanh, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Le Thuy Linh, Ha Kieu Vy — young talents who have shown outstanding performance at the recent national championship. Additionally, veterans like Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Doan Thi Xuan, and Luu Thi Hue are expected to bring experience and stability to the team.
The training phase is planned to continue until the end of November to allow the team to refine tactics and test personnel before Thanh Thuy and Bich Thuy return from Japan to join the squad. These two key players will be essential in the ambition to win the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games, a goal set by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and coaching staff since the beginning of the year.
Previously, during the first phase of 2025, the Vietnam women's team participated in several international competitions such as the AVC Nations Cup, SEA V.League, and VTV Cup, gaining experience and experimenting with lineups.
