Vietnam women's volleyball did not call up Bich Tuyen for SEA Games 33

Outside hitter Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyên is absent from the list of players summoned for the national women's volleyball team participating in SEA Games 33 in Thailand.

According to the latest update from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyên is not named in the squad called up for the national women's volleyball team competing at SEA Games 33 in Thailand.

After the SEA V.League 2025, Bích Tuyên has not returned to the national team. Previously, she also withdrew from the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship roster due to personal reasons.

In the second phase of the 2025 National Championship, the 2000-born hitter continued to be sidelined for LPB Ninh Bình because of injury and was only registered as a medical staff member. This led fans to question her chances of participating in the SEA Games.

In the training list announced on October 19, Bích Tuyên’s name is missing. The coaching staff assessed that her long absence has affected her form, making it insufficient to meet the professional requirements.

Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt selected three replacements for the outside hitter position: Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh, Đặng Thị Kim Thanh, and Đoàn Thị Xuân. Among them, Kiều Trinh is highly regarded for her consistency and coordination with the setter. Kim Thanh stands out as a star after helping VTV Bình Điền Long An win the national championship, while Đoàn Thị Xuân is a versatile option who can cover multiple positions in the lineup.

Besides the core players, Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt also gave opportunities to several young players from the Vietnam U21 team such as Phạm Quỳnh Hương, Hoàng Hồng Hạnh, Bùi Thị Ánh Thảo, Nguyễn Phương Quỳnh, Lê Như Anh, Lê Thùy Linh, and Hà Kiều Vy.

According to the plan, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will gather for training in Quảng Ninh for two months to prepare for SEA Games 33. Key players Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and Trần Thị Bích Thủy are currently competing in the Japanese Championship and are temporarily absent but will rejoin the team before departing for Thailand.
