Vietnam women's volleyball team plans to train domestically

Following the end of the 2025 National Championship, the Vietnam women's volleyball squad is currently getting ready for their second training camp, targeting the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

According to information, Quang Ninh is likely to be chosen as the main training location for the Vietnam women's volleyball team before their campaign towards the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

The Vietnam Department of Sports and the Volleyball Federation are reviewing the coaching staff's proposal, where head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet expressed a desire to continue selecting Quang Ninh as the training base. This venue was previously used by the team earlier this year, offering facilities and an environment that meet professional requirements.

Currently, the official team roster has not yet been approved by the Department of Sports. However, the coaching staff along with the Volleyball Federation have finalized the personnel plan and submitted the proposal to the authorities. Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet personally compiled a list of 20 athletes expected to be called up for this training period.

The current call-up list includes athletes: Pham Quynh Huong, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Hoang Hong Hanh (outside hitter), Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Xuan (setter), Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Luu Thi Hue, Le Thuy Linh (middle blockers), along with setters such as Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Vi Thi Yen Nhi. The libero duo consists of Nguyen Khanh Dang and Ha Kieu Vy.

According to the Volleyball Federation's plan, the women's team will have an overseas training trip, most likely in Japan, to improve physical fitness and technical skills. However, some issues regarding location and timing are still under consideration to ensure weather conditions similar to Thailand, helping players adapt better in terms of health and performance.

During the first training camp this year, the Vietnam women's team trained at multiple locations including Quang Ninh, Dong Anh (Hanoi), Tam Dao (Phu Tho), and Ninh Binh, before competing in international tournaments such as the AVC Nations Cup, VTV Cup, Shanghai Future Stars, SEA V.League, and the 2025 World Championship.
