SEA Games 33 is drawing near, yet the host organizers in Thailand have not released any updates on the gender verification policy for participating athletes.
Last weekend, Thailand conducted the draw and announced detailed schedules for most sports at the games. This was one of the last crucial meetings to complete preparations; however, the topic of gender verification was once again completely ignored.
According to the Thai-language volleyball live coverage site, the SEA Games organizers merely proposed the idea of gender testing when a Vietnamese athlete immediately decided to withdraw. This refers to Bích Tuyền, who no longer appears on the preliminary registration list of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
