2025 National Volleyball Championship: A Season of Grit and Ambition

The 2025 National Volleyball Championship wrapped up with two finals extending to the fifth set, where Biên Phòng MB and VTV Bình Điền Long An both successfully retained their championship titles. This season was highly dramatic, marking a strong evolution in Vietnamese volleyball in terms of both technical quality and organizational efforts.

Starting from the 2025 season, the tournament was condensed to 8 teams in both men's and women's divisions, playing a single round-robin in the first phase, with the top 4 teams advancing to compete for the championship and the remaining 4 battling to avoid relegation. This format made the matches more intense, removing any "safety cushion" for any team.

From Đông Anh (Hà Nội) to Ninh Bình Arena, the volleyball atmosphere was blazing hot for over six months. The participation of Đạm Cà Mau as the main sponsor brought a new look: professional organization, consistent brand image, and strong dissemination through media platforms and social networks.

In the men's category, Biên Phòng MB continued to affirm their number one position by defeating Thể Công Tân Cảng 3-2 in the final. Coming from behind, the military team demonstrated the resilience of champions with cohesive play, tight defense, and powerful attacks. Outside hitter Nguyễn Ngọc Thuân shined again, alongside setter Đinh Văn Duy, helping Biên Phòng MB successfully defend their throne.

In the women's category, VTV Bình Điền Long An, despite missing Thanh Thúy and Khánh Vy, still proved the strength of their experienced squad. Coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa’s team made a remarkable comeback against LPBank Ninh Bình to win 3-2, ending the season with a deeply emotional victory.

A clear highlight of this year's tournament was the presence of high-quality foreign players. Names like Miroslava Paskova (LPBank Ninh Bình), Voronkova (Thông tin Binh đoàn 19), and Roni (VTV Bình Điền Long An) not only added appeal to the competition but also helped elevate the skill level of domestic athletes.

The combination of foreign veterans and young domestic players has helped many clubs transform with more varied and faster playing styles. This is an important step towards integration with regional and continental leagues.

Not only was the championship race thrilling, but the relegation battle was also intense. In the women's group, TP.HCM had to bid farewell after a series of losses. In the men's group, Sanest Khánh Hoà and Hà Nội barely survived thanks to narrow wins in the final rounds. These results reveal an increasing divide between the leading teams and the rest, while also raising the issue of long-term investment in personnel, coaching, and youth training for clubs.

The 2025 National Volleyball Championship is regarded by experts as "the most captivating season in recent years," not just because of the high-level matches, but also due to the relentless fighting spirit and aspiration of each team.

Well-known names remained on the top podium, but behind them was the breakthrough of many young teams — a sign that the future of Vietnamese volleyball is moving forward positively.

With systematic investment, an increasingly professional league system, and a promising young athlete pool, the National Volleyball Championship is gradually establishing itself as a top-tier competition where determination and ambition meet at the net.
