Fully recovered from injury, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy has regained her original form.
Outside hitter Trần Thị Thanh Thúy continues to showcase outstanding performances wearing the Gunma Green Wings jersey in the 2025-2026 Japan Women's Volleyball National Championship. Even after missing 2 matches during the period competing with the Vietnam national team at SEA Games 33, the 1997-born player quickly adapted and became a key figure in coach Masayasu Sakamoto’s tactical lineup.
With 18 points scored in the 3-0 victory over Hitachi Rivale on the afternoon of January 4 (Vietnam time), Thanh Thúy surpassed 300 points, currently holding 303 points, returning her to the top 15 scorers of this year’s SV.League.
"4T" has played 19 matches for Gunma Green Wings, averaging nearly 16 points per match – a very impressive figure. The scoring efficiency of the captain of the Vietnam women's volleyball team stands at 43.8%, ranking 12th in the entire league.
The consistency of Thanh Thúy, combined with the explosive performance of her teammate Olivia Rozanski, is helping Gunma Green Wings soar in the rankings. Rozanski is the only player so far to exceed 500 points, making Gunma a completely different team compared to last season.
After 22 matches this season, Gunma Green Wings hold a record of 14 wins and 8 losses, climbing to 4th place on the standings, just behind three strong teams: NEC Red Rockets, Hisamitsu Springs, and Osaka Marvelous. If they maintain a top 8 position until the end of the season, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and her teammates will qualify for the Finals, fueling hopes to compete for the championship.
In the next two matches this weekend, Gunma Green Wings will face Queenseis Kariya – currently ranked 8th. This club features legendary Thai setter Nootsara Tomkom, along with other notable players such as Sofya Kuznetsova, Danielle Cuttino, and Marie Schoelzel.
In their two previous encounters this season, Gunma Green Wings and Queenseis Kariya have split victories, each winning one match.
