Ho Chi Minh City Police, backed by substantial investment, is poised to make a significant impact in the Vietnamese volleyball league this season.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police men's volleyball team has officially secured the services of two players, Nguyễn Văn Quốc Duy and Nguyễn Phúc Lộc, for the 2026 season.
Nguyễn Văn Quốc Duy, born in 2001, is one of the most beloved volleyball attackers in Vietnam, known for his explosive approach, powerful attacks, and signature aggressive serves. Quốc Duy developed through the Trà Vinh training system (former) and stayed with the team until the provincial merger last year - where he transferred to the Vĩnh Long men's volleyball roster.
Alongside competing in the national A-class championship for Trà Vinh, Quốc Duy also played for clubs in the National Championship: Tràng An Ninh Bình (now LPB Ninh Bình) and Thể Công Tân Cảng, winning the national title with the latter in 2022.
"NishiDuy" is no stranger to Ho Chi Minh City Police, having played for the club last season on loan. Now, he is officially part of the police team.
At the national team level, Quốc Duy helped Vietnam's men's volleyball squad win the silver medal at SEA Games 31 and bronze at SEA Games 32. He also participated in the recent Games held in Thailand last December, where the team finished fourth overall.
Nguyễn Phúc Lộc, born in 1995, plays as an outside hitter. He has previously played for Ho Chi Minh City, Bến Tre, and most recently Sanest Khánh Hòa.
His time with the coastal city team brought Phúc Lộc many achievements: the 2023 national championship, runner-up in the 2024 National Championship, and two consecutive silver medals (2023, 2024) at the Hùng Vương Cup. Last season, despite Sanest Khánh Hòa facing difficulties with many key players leaving, Phúc Lộc, along with Dương Văn Tiên, Huỳnh Trung Trực, and coach Ngô Văn Kiều, stayed to help the club avoid relegation.
Besides volleyball, Phúc Lộc also has a successful modeling career, holding the title of 3rd Runner-up in Mister Vietnam - Male Model Vietnam 2024.
Both Quốc Duy and Phúc Lộc are outstanding players who are expected to elevate the quality of Ho Chi Minh City Police's squad in the 2026 season. Previously, the police team parted ways with several members, including head coach Dương Tấn Vinh and two outside hitters who had been on the national team: Chế Quốc Vô Lít and Trần Triển Chiêu.
