At present, Bích Thủy’s team ranks second from the bottom in the Japanese Women's Volleyball National League standings this season.
Trần Thị Bích Thủy and her teammates from Okayama Seagulls were swiftly defeated 0-3 (17-25; 17-25; 15-25) by PFU BlueCats in the Japanese Women's Volleyball National Championship on the afternoon of January 11, Vietnam time.
After losing to BlueCats - the club where Trần Thị Thanh Thúy previously had great success - with a 0-3 score the day before (January 10), Okayama Seagulls, with a relatively weak squad, were unable to make a difference in this rematch.
The Seagulls are known for their defensive skills, almost like fielding an all-libero lineup; however, their limited attacking ability combined with an unstable setter performance left the “Seagulls” powerless to maintain control against PFU BlueCats. All three sets followed the same pattern: Bích Thủy and her teammates fell behind early and couldn’t close the gap due to a lackluster offense.
In the third set, Okayama Seagulls even lost by a 10-point margin. The team currently sits second to last in the SV.League 2025-2026 standings with a record of 3 wins and 19 losses, having now lost five matches in a row.
Trần Thị Bích Thủy scored 7 points (4 attack points, 2 blocks, 1 service point) with a scoring efficiency of 23.53%. Though not at her peak performance and still facing coordination issues with the team's setter, she was still the leading scorer for Okayama Seagulls in this defeat. No other Seagulls player achieved a scoring efficiency above 50% in this match.
Since joining the Japanese club, Bích Thủy has only experienced one victory – against Denso Airybees on November 30, 2025. The following week, Okayama Seagulls won another match against Ageo Medics, but the Vietnamese volleyball player did not participate due to competing in the 33rd SEA Games.
