Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and the Gunma Green Wings staged a dramatic 3-2 comeback (18-25; 23-25; 25-21; 27-25; 15-10) against Queenseis Kariya in the Japan Women’s Volleyball National Championship on the afternoon of January 11, Vietnam time.
After a humiliating 0-3 loss to Queenseis Kariya the previous day (January 10), Gunma Green Wings were determined to "avenge" the defeat and keep their top spot on the SV.League 2025-2026 standings. However, this ambition was nearly crushed as the opponents played excellently, taking a 2-0 lead while the blue-shirted team struggled.
Nevertheless, starting from the third set, Gunma managed to regain some control. In the decisive fourth set, Gunma fell behind 15-11 and then 18-15, but their resilient spirit allowed them to equalize and then surge ahead strongly in the final stretch to push the match into a thrilling fifth set.
There, coach Masayasu Sakamoto’s squad performed at their best to complete the spectacular comeback.
