This year's domestic volleyball tournaments are anticipated to be highly thrilling.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation announced that the Dong Nai men's volleyball team has completed the registration procedures to participate in the 2026 national A-class league, fully complying with current regulations and professional rules. This is considered a significant step in the plan to rebuild and develop the local men's volleyball movement at the national level.
According to information from Dong Nai, on January 7, the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center signed contracts with 5 coaches, assistant coaches, and 13 athletes to strengthen the team. The new squad will soon begin training and professional preparation with the goal of competing in the 2026 national A-class league.
Notably, Coach Duong Tan Vinh officially signed a contract to work with the Dong Nai men's volleyball team. Last season, Coach Tan Vinh led the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's volleyball team and helped the club achieve runner-up in the Hung Vuong Cup and win the bronze medal in the National Championship. Additionally, the team recruited other high-quality players such as Lam Van Sanh, Tran Dinh Quy, and Nguyen Quan Ngoc.
Previously, at the end of December 2025, following a proposal from the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the plan to form the provincial men's volleyball team was approved. The team was assigned to be directly managed by the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and officially registered to participate in the national volleyball tournaments from 2026 onward. This marks an important milestone, signaling the organized return of Dong Nai men's volleyball after a period of absence from major competitions.
According to the plan, the group stage of the 2026 national A-class league will take place at the Dien Bien Provincial Sports Hall from May 16 to May 30. The tournament is expected to feature 14 men's teams from various localities and organizations across the country. Currently, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation is finalizing team registrations before releasing the official match schedule.
The finals of the 2026 national A-class league are expected to be held in Thai Nguyen from October 15 to October 25.
