According to confirmation from the Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO), this is a serious violation, directly affecting the image of a professional athlete. Therefore, Ahn Hye Jin is no longer part of the national team's plans and must face a series of disciplinary actions at both the federation and her club GS Caltex.

Notably, Ahn Hye Jin was a former teammate of Tran Thi Bich Thuy during the time the Vietnamese attacker played for GS Caltex in the Korean national league. This incident has therefore garnered significant attention from Vietnamese volleyball fans.

According to information from the club, Ahn Hye Jin herself proactively reported the incident to the team after being caught. GS Caltex then promptly notified KOVO and publicly apologized to fans, emphasizing that drunk driving is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Currently, the case is still under police investigation. According to Korean volleyball regulations, Ahn Hye Jin could face a suspension from competition for one year or more, and even a minimum fine of 5 million won. A disciplinary meeting is expected to be held soon to determine the official penalty.

Both Ahn and GS Caltex have issued apologies following the recent incident

The incident occurred in the context of Ahn Hye Jin having just completed a successful season with GS Caltex, contributing to the team's championship victory. However, this scandal has overshadowed her recent achievements and severely impacted her future, especially as she is in the process of negotiating as a free agent (FA).

After the incident was exposed, Ahn Hye Jin posted an apology letter on social media, admitting her mistake and expressing deep remorse. She apologized to fans and teammates, pledging to live with self-reflection and consider this a major lesson to avoid repeating the mistake in the future.
