The AVC Cup 2026 women's volleyball tournament will take place from June 6 to 14 in the Philippines, bringing together 12 top Asian teams: Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Iran, Indonesia, Australia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong (China).
According to the competition format, the 12 teams are divided into 2 groups. Group A consists of Philippines, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, and Uzbekistan. Group B includes Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Iran, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China), and Lebanon. The teams play a single round-robin to earn points, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. The remaining teams will compete in classification matches for positions 5 through 12.

The spotlight of the AVC Cup 2026 continues to be on the Vietnam women's volleyball team. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's squad arrives in the Philippines as the defending champions and is considered one of the strongest contenders for the title. After weeks of intensive training and preparation, the coaching staff has finalized the 14-player roster for the tournament, featuring notable names such as captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy, libero Nguyen Khanh Dang, and setter Vo Thi Kim Thoa.
However, Vietnam's title defense is expected to face considerable challenges. Opponents like Kazakhstan, Iran, South Korea, and host Philippines have invested heavily in their squads and aim to go deep in the tournament. As a result, the level of competition is anticipated to be much higher than in previous editions.
