Set 1: Vietnam 20-25 South Korea
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team faced an extremely tough start. From the very first points, they were clearly at a disadvantage against South Korea's impressive attacks, trailing by 3-4 points early on. The gap later widened to 6 points before entering the final acceleration phase of the set.
The efforts of Thanh Thuy and her teammates in the closing points only prevented Vietnam from suffering a heavy set loss. South Korea took a 1-0 lead, putting the defending champions in a difficult position early on.
Set 2: Vietnam 19-25 South Korea
Similar to set 1, the Vietnamese team started slowly and quickly lost their advantage to South Korea. Despite their best efforts, poor first-touch handling caused their attacks to break down, and the gap between the two sides grew increasingly wide. South Korea extended their lead to 2-0, needing just one more set to secure a spot in the AVC Cup 2026 final.
Set 3: Vietnam 22-25 South Korea
Entering set 3 with a must-win mindset, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team showed improvement, taking a 2-3 point lead midway through the set—a rare occasion where they led in the semifinal. However, during the crucial final stretch, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's squad lost control of the game, allowed South Korea to equalize at 20-20, and then fall behind. Losing in three sets meant that Thanh Thuy and her teammates became former AVC Cup champions.
Final result: South Korea defeated Vietnam 3-0 (25-20; 25-19; 25-22).
