South Korea's women's volleyball team ended their remarkable run in the 2026 AVC Cup with a convincing 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei, thus claiming the title.
The girls from the Land of Kimchi won with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22, reaffirming their status as the strongest team in the tournament this year.
After an outstanding semifinal performance where they defeated Vietnam 3-0, South Korea entered the championship match with high spirits and immense confidence. From the very first points, the East Asian team demonstrated their technical superiority by implementing a fast, effective style of play that was particularly dangerous in serving situations.

The high-difficulty serves continuously put pressure on Chinese Taipei's first pass, making it difficult for them to organize attacks. Not only did South Korea gain an advantage from the serving line, but they also maintained stability in both defense and counterattack. The cohesion between positions allowed them to fully control the match for most of the playing time.
On the other side of the net, Chinese Taipei still had moments of determined play. Their blocking system worked quite effectively and repeatedly limited the power of South Korea's attacks.
However, facing an opponent with a well-rounded technical foundation and the ability to maintain a high intensity of play, those efforts were not enough to cause an upset. Despite their strong determination in the third set, Chinese Taipei could not stop South Korea's strength.
The AVC Cup 2026 championship is a well-deserved reward for what South Korea displayed throughout the tournament. This achievement not only marks a strong comeback for South Korean women's volleyball on the continental stage but also helps them accumulate over 7 points in the world rankings.
This is seen as an important step forward in their goal to improve rankings and get closer to the top 30 teams in the world.
