Phạm Thị Yến gave birth to a daughter named Đặng Ngọc Minh Anh. This news was warmly welcomed and congratulated by a large number of friends, colleagues, fans, and even her students.

Phạm Thị Yến is a legendary setter in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball. Born in 1985 in Hà Nam, she stands 1m78 tall.

Since 2003, Phạm Thị Yến has dominated domestic courts and, together with Bùi Thị Huệ, formed a "lethal" attacking duo for the national team. For decades, she was the highest-scoring Vietnamese athlete, averaging over 20 points per match.

From 2014, Phạm Thị Yến both played and served on the coaching staff of the Binh Chủng Thông Tin club. By early 2016, she officially retired from playing to fully transition into coaching.
